The winter is getting long… Daylight is coming back, but not fast enough… The temperature is still below freezing and you are craving warmth… Look no further… COLDSNAP is happening right now in Prince George, BC:-)
As its Facebook Page puts it, “Coldsnap is an annual winter music festival, beating the late-January/early-February blues away by bringing you rock, folk, hip-hop, country and, well, blues.”
I attended Coldsnap for a weekend last year, and loved it (my photos will be the object of another post). Here’s how it goes: Spend the morning ice-skating or playing in the snow, attend one of the festival’s free workshops in the afternoon, treat yourself to a nice dinner out, and finish the day dancing to the energetic rhythms of talented performers in the Ramada Ballroom or at the Coast Inn. You are in for something a little quieter, check out the shows in one of the other venues (PG Playhouse, Artspace, UNBC Canfor Theatre).
This year’s line-up is a dream (see 2014 Programs)! Too bad life had other plans for me this year 😦
I would like to thank Coldsnap’s volunteer photographers for accepting to join me in my Capturing Music adventure and for letting me use their photos on this site.
Here are photos of the first day. I will add galleries to this post throughout the week.
